Why? Our human brain craves certainty. It’s a protection tool; a way to keep us safe so that we continue the species. So when things don’t seem certain, our brains start flashing the warning signs—like feeling uncomfortable or wondering if we’re an imposter. Unless we know how to interpret and act on the signs, we end up frozen or stuck.
And here’s the mistake EVERYONE makes: we believe that when we gain enough confidence, we’ll take action, make that decision, move forward. However, the truth is that action creates confidence. We’ve got to DO something first . . . and then our confidence grows. That’s how you reset confidence.
