The 3 Hot Benefits of Discovering Your Superpowers

As you heard in my previous post and elsewhere on this site, I’m convinced that each of us has superpowers we can bring to work. Yes, each of us–you over there with the Blackberry pressing into your hip. . you with the old-school pencil-behind-the-ear. . . you getting everyone else organized and moving in the right direction. . . you sitting in the airport, praying for your upgrade, again. No matter who you are, where you are, and what you do, you’ve got ’em. But if you don’t know what they are, you’re missing out on the benefits they can give you. You won’t enjoy the feeling of wearing your red cape and flying through your work and life. You won’t have the solid roots you need to hold you down when situations want to blow you over. Most importantly, you won’t be able to make the biggest difference you can to your corner of the world, at a time when we need you the most!! And who doesn’t want to have that kind of legacy, no matter how big or how small?

Okay, it takes a little work to discover your superpowers, and we’ll give you some simple, practical tips and ideas on this blog. There’s also a free Superpower Statement Generator with accompanying audio coaching from me you can access for free here.

The work is worth it. Not convinced? Well, here are the three hot benefits of discovering your superpowers, right now!

Hot Benefit #1: Clarity

Knowing and owning your superpowers is like knowing your name. You identify with it, are proud of it, and don’t hesitate to use it. When you get crystal clear about the unique and special forces within you, you can make better choices about where you invest your most valuable resources–your time, energy, money, and attention.

Hot Benefit #2: Creativity

When you claim your superpowers, you suddenly explode with a realm of possibilities that weren’t there before. The old line “nature abhors a vacuum” is true here; when you get clear and eliminate what doesn’t matter (including worrying about those so-called “weaknesses”), you create space for new opportunities and ideas to erupt.

Hot Benefit #3: Confidence

Ah, elusive seed! Why is it that everyone admires confidence and wants more of it, but no one ever seems to have enough of it? Knowing your superpowers brings you confidence. Understanding the difference you make, the effect you have, and the change you create–all of those results and reactions generate confidence.

Powerful stuff, eh? I dare you to tell me you don’t want any more clarity, creativity or confidence. Double-dog dare.

In future posts, I’ll share more on each of these hot benefits, and how gaining them will make it easier to wear your red cape and create the revolutionary change you want for your life at work.
