Reaching the World from Our Backyard: Jameson Yingling of Sugarshack
If you’ve ever thought, well “no one REALLY makes money by putting content online,” think again.
There’s a company right here in Bonita Springs that’s making an impact online by building a digital brand –and it’s generating revenue as well as raves.
Meet Sugarshack, and my guest today, Jameson Yingling.
In addition to being an executive producer and writer, Jameson’s one of the partners at this digital media production company. While the team works all over the country creating content for concerts and events, they’re also known for their prominent YouTube music channel, the Sugarshack sessions.
What’s a Sugarshack Session? At its simplest, it’s a mini-concert from musicians all over the world who come to a Bonita backyard and record a few songs.
Those songs are posted on the Sugarshack Session’s YouTube channel, which at the time of this recording, has over 500 videos and more than 130 thousand subscribers.
Plus, get this– some of the videos have earned between one and eight MILLION views. And each of those views earns the company revenue, based on YouTube’s advertising model.
So that’s not all Sugarshack does, and in this interview, Jameson shows us behind the scenes. He’s an FGCU grad who moved away, but found his way home to Bonita Springs.
